The American Cancer Society operates the Florida Quitline (see Florida Quitline), which is a statewide telephone-based program that offers counseling, information about quitting, and Nicotine Replacement Therapy assistance. The local chapter also has a database of area resources, in addition to educational materials to assist in quitting.

Baptist offers the QuitSmart system, which utilizes a multi-component approach to smoking cessation. Participants receive a kit which includes a guidebook for purposes of self-study. An audiotape/CD teaches progressive relaxation while participants learn to become a calm, comfortable nonsmokers. Proven coping techniques, relapse prevention and recovery strategies from trained health professionals are all taught to help assist in making the change. Social support is enlisted from family, friends, and co-workers.

The Florida Quitline offers toll-free telephone-based tobacco cessation counseling at no cost. Anyone living in Florida who is ready to make an attempt to quit can use the Quitline. The Quitline offers counseling sessions, self-help materials, and Nicotine Replacement Therapy assistance. TDD services are also offered for the hearing impaired.

Freedom From Smoking®, the American Lung Association's nationally known and recognized program, is considered the gold standard for smoking cessation programs. This free web-based program consists of seven modules that assists the smoker with the quitting process.

This program offers individualized treatment plans created by a psychologist to fit your needs. The initial visit consists of a nicotine dependency consultation, and sessions following this depend on the treatment plan created. Prices range from $158 - 263 per session.

This program is offered to all active duty members and eligible beneficiaries. The program offers an initial one hour session focusing on the effects of nicotine addiction and emphasizes behavior modification and stress management. Weekly follow up sessions are then scheduled to address nutrition management, weight management, and relapse prevention. Nicotine Replacement Therapy assistance is also available.

Nicotine Anonymous is a non-profit 12-step fellowship of men and women helping each other live nicotine-free lives. NA welcomes all those seeking freedom from nicotine addiction, including those using cessation programs and nicotine withdrawal aids. The primary purpose of Nicotine Anonymous is to help those who would like to cease using tobacco and nicotine products in any form. The group offers support and recovery using the 12 Steps as adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous to achieve abstinence from nicotine. Telephone and internet meetings are also available. The Quit Smoking Now program will take a tobacco user through a six week program, one hour a week and assist them in learning "why they smoke," how to deal with triggers, learn stress management techniques, and coping with withdrawal symptoms. This is accomplished in a stress-free, no-pressure supportive group environment where everyone has the same goal in mind... QUITTING. The group is led and guided by a tobacco cessation counselor, but is participant driven. Northeast Florida AHEC hosts these FREE classes in seven counties, Baker, Clay, St. Johns, Duval, Flagler, Volusia, and Nassau.

St. Vincent’s uses the Quitsmart System to help tobacco users break the habit. Individual and group sessions are available. The program consists of three sessions, lasting for about an hour each. Classes are held the second Tuesday of the month at 2 p.m., but appointments at other times can be made. The cost is $75 for the entire program.
